The article “Lei de Benford para a Auditoria de Obras Públicas; Análise de Sobrepreço na Construção da Arena da Amazônia” has been accepted for publication in BLC – Boletim de Licitações e Contratos. The paper shows how to use Benford’s Law as a tool to detect possible data manipulation based on the UNIT values of the budget sheets of the Arena da Amazônia soccer stadium, built for the 2014 Brazilian World Cup.

The article “Benford’s law for audit of public works: an analysis of overpricing in Maracanã soccer arena’s renovation” has been published in Economics Bulletin.

I was saddened today by the terrible news of the death of John and Alicia Nash.

In addition to  the well known, fantastic contributions of Nash’s genius to Mathematics and Economic Theory, John and Alicia Nash where the living proof that Love, Patience, Dedication and Companionship are among the most beautiful expressions of human spirit.

This is surely why you were allowed the rest together…
